The cyclists are ready and so were the fans in Vaduz. With the team presentation now complete, the anticipation for the start of the race tomorrow, Sunday, is mounting.
It was a colourful, loud and emotional team presentation on the Ratshausplatz in Vaduz. The spectators created a great atmosphere and the riders visibly enjoyed their time in the spotlight. The Swiss pros in particular were greeted enthusiastically in the neighboring land of Liechtenstein.
In addition to the teams with Swiss representation, the presentation of two teams was particularly special. Firstly, Team Movistar received the TdS Sustainability Award. They achieved this distinction due to their strong commitment to environmental sustainability. The team immediately donated the CHF 3,500 prize money to the #rideforgino association, which also supports many sustainability projects. Gino Mäder’s father Andreas accepted the prize money and thanked the team for their tremendous contribution.
Team Bahrain Victorious also took the opportunity to honour Gino, who died in a tragic accident. The team took to the stage with a large banner bearing the message #rideforgino.
After a perfect start to the Tour de Suisse 2024, we are now looking forward to the racing action!
